What types of data bePublish collects and how it is collected
The information bePublish collects from your membership registration includes:
- Your name (if applicable)
- Your registration email
- Your bePublish login or logout information
- Information you receive emails, open emails and click links from bePublish emails
- Your geolocation information (e.g., Vietnam, USA, etc.)
- Information you see specific articles on bePublish
- Your profile picture according to Gravatar that you set up with your registered email
bePublish commits to use Cloudflare Analytics, Umami, and Google Analytics to collect anonymous data from readers to improve user experience, so all your information is handled with care and privacy in mind.
How bePublish uses the data collected
bePublish uses your email information and name to send emails notifying you of the latest articles from bePublish. Don't post ads or content unrelated to the bePublish blog.
Emails are sent directly through the Ghost CMS infrastructure used by bePublish. We do not export your email address to external marketing databases. All collected email data is securely stored within Ghost's database to prevent unauthorized access or data leaks..
All the information that bePublish collects using Cloudflare Analytics and Umami are anonymous and you can rest assured of your privacy.
Cookies require a member's login to determine whether you are logged in or out of the website. Cookies only store your information and delete themselves after a short time if you do not visit bePublish.
For comment system, we use Ghost's native commenting feature. If you create an account or post a comment, your data is stored directly within the bePublish database on our server. You can manage or delete your comments and account details directly from your account settings.
Your data rights
You have full control over your personal data on bePublish, including:
- Access and Update: View and update your profile information directly in your account settings/Portal.
- Data Erasure (Right to Be Forgotten): Request the permanent deletion of your account and associated personal data from our database at any time by emailing us at cuong@bepublish.com.
- Opt-Out: Revoke your consent to receive newsletters at any time via the Ghost Portal or using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email.
Third-Party data processors
To maintain reliable service, bePublish partners with trusted third-party providers for infrastructure and operations:
- Hetzner Online GmbH: Web hosting and database infrastructure (servers located in the US).
- Mailgun Technologies: Email delivery provider used to transmit newsletter emails sent from Ghost CMS.
- Cloudflare / Umami / Google Analytics: Anonymous traffic and performance analytics.
How we share data
bePublish hosts servers in Hetzner Cloud with servers located in the US.
bePublish is not affiliated with any 3rd parties for automatic sharing of member data.
Revoke consent to receive emails
You can revoke your consent to receive emails from bePublish anytime you want by logging into your account and turning off your consent to receive emails directly on bePublish's Portal.
When you turn off receiving emails, you will never receive emails from bePublish again.
You can also turn on receiving emails again at any time at your account portal.
